Finally, if you are traveling in international flight, make sure your children photo in the passport is the most recent. Choose The Right Seat In Air Travel Grab a seat near the window as children are dream of flying and you can give them some quiz to let them guess you see outside the window during the air travel. Choose the front seat, aisles or next to the window and at the seat near to the engine. It is because you need more space for children to play and if you are near the engine, you will get even more agitated when your children get naughty. Packing For Air Travel Pack extra backpack for your children, especially for their entertainment during the air. If you will transfer between flights, you need to prepare extra cash for extra snacks or toys as it is expensive there. You do not want them to keep complaining that they are hungry and boring. Travel Snacks Pack ahead with their favorite snacks, especially when your children wrangling and misbehave, you can calm them down with this favorite snacks. Macau Travel Info For Your China Vacations
This article is about the China vacations and you can find some useful information in it if you are planning your China vacations now. The Macau Special Administrative Region, commonly known as Macau or Macao, is one of the two special administrative regions of the People's Republic of China, the other being Hong Kong. Macau lies on the western side of the Pearl River Delta, bordering Guangdong province in the north and facing the South China Sea in the east and south. The territory has thriving industries such as textiles, electronics and toys, and a notable tourist industry that boasts a wide range of hotels, resorts, stadiums, restaurants and casinos. This makes it one of the richest cities in the world. Macau's economy is based largely on tourism, much of it geared toward gambling. The gaming, tourism and hospitality industry is estimated to contribute more than 50% of Macau's GDP, and 70% of Macau government revenue. First, there are three useful advices for your Macau travel: (1). The RMB or U.S. dollars are not accepted in Macau and you'd better do the currency exchange before you arrive Macau. You can only use the HK $ or Portuguese Escudo (PTE) here. 1 HK $ = 1 Portuguese Escudo in Macau. If you are also going to visit Hongkong, the HK $ is your good choice because the Portuguese Escudo is not accepted in Hongkong. You will need to get some changes for the bus service too (like some coins). Usually the bus in Macau costs HK $ 2.5 for one person. You can do the currency exchange in Macau for sure, but the exchange rate are not so good here (comparing with other cities in China). The digital video and digital camera are good equipments for your Macau travel. You can use your cell phone here if your cell phone service provider can provide you the international roam service in Macau. (2). If you are planning to visit Macau in the weekend and will need to stay here for one night, you'd better ask a local travel agent ( travel agents in Macau or Zhuhai) to make a reservation for you first. You will find it very difficult to find a hotel with reasonable price if you don't do the reservation in advance. The cost will be about HK $ 700-1000 if you don't make a reservation. If you do this in advance, your travel agent can help you to get your room at only about HK $ 300. Sometimes it is even lower than this if you are lucky. (3). The people in Macau speak three languages: English, Portuguese and Cantonese. You can choose the Xinmalu Street (Shizheng Square) as your first stop in Macau. The Macau Government Tourist Office is in this street and you can get free Macau maps here. They can be very helpful for your Macau travel. Travel in Menorca Spain
Menorca is the second largest of the Balearic Islands and is smaller and quieter than its main neighbour Mallorca, but bigger than it's other neighbour Ibiza. It is only 9 miles (15km) wide and 32 miles (52km) long and located just 34 km / 21 miles from Mallorca, the island has many family-friendly resorts and almost as many beaches as Mallorca and Ibiza combined. Peaceful holiday resorts line the south coast of the island and sleepy fishing villages are dotted along its rocky north shore. Menorca has escaped much of the effect of package holidays and the island's small towns and villages offer a fairly quiet and relaxed holiday, even during the peak season, with many wonderful attractions. There are plenty of tourism and tourist information offices situated in the towns of Menorca and these provide up-to-date information about Menorca tourist attractions, museums, events, Menorca festivals, Menorca travel, Menorca sightseeing and general Menorca tourism and tourist information. Largely protected from development, Menorca is a real haven for nature-lovers. Menorca is a very green island, with pinewoods and many fields for the islands 25,000 grazing cattle. Cycling tracks meander vigorously across the meadows and scrublands, offering some spectacular views of the island and the seafront. The north coast of Menorca is rocky and rough, whilst in contrast; the south coast of Menorca is full of sandy coves, with fine, golden sand, sheltered by cliffs. Menorca is littered with prehistoric remains, giving much evidence of a bygone sophisticated culture. Little is known of those weather beaten stone monuments, but it is thought they are linked to those of Sardinia and date around the second millennium BC Talayotic period. The oldest and largest towns in Menorca are Mahon on it's eastern side, the walled capital of the island, which is at the end of an enormous natural harbour and Ciutadella, Menorca's ancient and co (western) end of the island. Mahon is a particularly busy port and has many impressive acrchitectural features whilst Ciutadella is a more graceful town, full of winding streets and characteristic old buildings, reminiscent of the Moorish and Spanish influence, including several churches. The town does not offer much in terms of sightseeing, but it has excellent eateries, shops and a very relaxed ambience for wandering around. Mahon itself is a sedate and conservative town, consisting of classical Georgian houses from its British past (Admiral Nelson once lived at the Golden Farm Mansion) For sightseeing, a trip to the famous Xoriguer Gin distillery is well worth a visit. Menorca is the greenest and least developed of the Balearic Islands. It has a slightly gentler feel than neighbouring Mallorca and is the perfect holiday destination for couples and families: everything is easy, peaceful and close by. The best part of Menorca is its abundance of beautiful beaches - it has more beaches than the rest of the Balearics put together. The coastline ranges from pristine coves to long, sandy beaches separated by rocky headlands. Inland, Menorca remains essentially rural with restful scenery of rolling fields and wooded ravines Fiercely protective of its natural beauty and fully aware of the potentially damaging consequences of selling out to mass tourism, Menorca has clearly demarcated most of its holiday areas. Resort villages are dotted around the coast and characteristically amount to just a small selection of hotels and self-catering apartments, with enough quality shops, bars and restaurants to provide fully for visitors. As such the resorts are safe, modern and sympathetically designed to complement the surroundings. A proud island, Menorca is clean and uncluttered, with an excellent climate - qualities that promote a sense of space and well being for everyone.Menorca is not expensive and a daily budget of around $35 is enough for a good time. However splashing out and experiencing everything can be done within a daily budget of $80. The museum of Menorca is easily the biggest building on the island and the best museum. It holds a wide array or prehistoric artefacts from 4000BC and Talayotic times. Another well-known sight is the Naveta Dels Tudons, also known as the cathedral of prehistoric monuments. It is shaped like an upturned boat and is one of several Navetas on the island. Navetas were old funeral structures and are surrounded in mystery and legend.Travel by Taxis Taxis in Menorca are a useful way to travel around the towns and visit nearby sights and attractions. The taxi meters starts at a basic fare, but additional charges are usually made for luggage, night time driving and travel on public holidays in Menorca.Driving Tips Citizens of EU member countries require a national driving licence to drive cars in Spain Citizens from non-EU member countries need an International Driving Permit, as well as their national driving licence. You must be at least 18 years old to drive a car in Spain and have a valid driving licence and car insurance. It is compulsory for the driver and all passengers to wear seat belts and children under 14 years old are not allowed to travel in front seats. In Spain, cars drive on the right-hand side of the road. Give way to traffic coming from the right at junctions and roundabouts Beware of what appear to be shortcuts on maps - these often turn out to be unpaved roads or mountain passes.Unless indicated, other major routes are 56 miles per hour / 90 km per hour and slower speed limits of 30 miles per hour / 50 km per hour are enforced in urban areas It is an offence not to carry some form of identification, such as passport or driving licenceTravel by Car Hire/Rental Driving in the centre of busy towns and popular resorts is best avoided if possible, as many of the streets and narrow, with one-way traffic. Cars parked alongside the pavements can also making driving conditions difficult. However, a car in Menorca provides a useful way to travel around the island and a current map of Menorca's roads is essential. There are many winding roads around the island that offer some truly spectacular views.
Travel in Ibiza Spain
Ibiza is well known as the clubbing capital of Europe, it boasts great scenery and isolated beaches so whether you want to party on or chill out, there will be something to attract you there. It is invaded every summer by a multinational force of party going sun seekers.Beachside, discos, clubs and bars ensure the place never sleeps. The clubbing season starts in mid June when the opening parties bring the towns of San Antonio and the island's capital, Ibiza Town, to life. They continue, all day and all night, through to the closing parties in late September. Unlike many other glittering resort communities, Ibiza Town is actually a living, breathing place with an interesting old quarter with ample interests for families and older visitors. The island effectively closes down through the winter, which is when people seeking something more tranquil and picturesque tend to visit. It is not a cheap place to holiday, however for Ibizan attractions and services, such as car hire they do get a lot cheaper during the low season but for a holiday spent on the beach and not doing much else then plan on getting by on $60 - $70. If you want to visit the nightclubs then budget for an extra $40-$60 a day.It has fine beaches, endless sunshine, good food and wild nightlife. Inland, the landscape is harsh, dry and rocky. You will find a pure and simple Mediterranean culture, and remains of populations, which inhabited the island, thousands of years ago, as for instance the famous wall paintings of Ses Fontelles Ibiza town has several museums worth visiting-among them, the Archaeological Museum and the museum of the Puig des Molins necropolis. You'll also find plenty of tourist shops and a casino that will gladly to take your hard earned cash.Ibiza offers various culinary delights. The town centres tend to offer cheap food for hungry clubbers but away from the main tourist districts, there are restaurants and cafs serving good food from all over the world, as well as traditional Spanish and Ibizan dishes. The biggest club in Ibiza is called Privilege and the Guinness Book of Records lists it as the world's largest - and it's home to the biggest club night in Ibiza, called 'Manumission'. Famous for it's excess in the late 90s, culminating in a live sex show featuring some of the Manumission owners, it achieved notoriety in the tabloid newspapers and it has been must-do for clubbers for years. It's also been described as the most beautiful club in the world, though the recent. The club is so big there is even a separate DJ in the toilets. All around the island and away from the main tourist centres are the secluded beaches and coves. The best way of discovering them is to hire a car or a moped and spend a day exploring, though you'll also get a view of them from the sea if you take one of the many boat trips, which operate, from most of the major coastal spots. Perfect for relaxing and preparing yourself for the night ahead. The Cova de can Marca is also well worth exploring. It is a cave system, located above San Miguel bay and is over a hundred thousand years old and was once used by tobacco and liquor smugglers. It's home to an impressive collection of stalactites and stalagmites The saltpans of Las Salinas are one of the island's most popular tourist attractions. Every year around 2500 cubic metres of seawater floods through a network of manmade channels, where the water is then allowed to evaporate under the relentless summer sun, transforming into a pinky-white salt crust that glistens as the sun sets over it every evening. The result is truly spectacular. The town of Santa Eulalia is also worth a visit as it is a very beautiful area with a long promenade and beach. It is also one of the best gastronomic and cultural centres on the island and has an exclusive Yacht marina and Art gallery, definitely the non-clubbers paradise.Travel by Taxis Taxis in Ibiza are a useful way to travel around the towns and visit nearby sights and attractions. The taxi meters starts at a basic fare, but additional charges are usually made for luggage, night time driving and travel on public holidays in Ibiza.Driving Tips Citizens of EU member countries require a national driving licence to drive cars in Spain Citizens from non-EU member countries need an International Driving Permit, as well as their national driving licence. You must be at least 18 years old to drive a car in Spain and have a valid driving licence and car insurance. It is compulsory for the driver and all passengers to wear seat belts and children under 14 years old are not allowed to travel in front seats. In Spain, cars drive on the right-hand side of the road. Give way to traffic coming from the right at junctions and roundabouts Beware of what appear to be shortcuts on maps - these often turn out to be unpaved roads or mountain passes. It is an offence not to carry some form of identification, such as passport or driving licenceIbiza, Spain Travel Car / Car Rental Driving in the centre of large towns and popular resorts are best avoided, as many of the streets and narrow, with one-way traffic. Cars parked alongside the pavements can also making driving conditions difficult. However, a car in Ibiza provides a useful way to travel around the island and a current map of Ibiza's roads is essential. There are many winding roads around the island that offer some truly spectacular views.

How international dialling via 0844 numbers work
The call charge, as discussed in the previous articles , of 0844 numbers for international dialling are pretty less than the call charges charged by BT. So one is compelled to think about how can some one charge even less than BT for international calling. For this we need to understand how this international calling works on 0844 numbers. Well not go into the technical details of this but will superficially discuss about how does this work. In order to dial cheap international calls what subscriber needs to do is to get an 0844 number and gives the service provider the number to which this 0844 number has to be mapped . What does the service provider do is just map that 0844 number to that international number and hence whenever the dialler calls that 0844 number the call is routed to that international number. This call some how needs to be travelled through a network to that international phone(receiver), for that usually the BT networks are used i.e. service provider use the existing international calling BT networks for routing their international calls for which BT charges an amount to the service provider. So, in order to make the cost less than BT the service provider needs to go through a network which costs less than BT. For that hence the service providers like 08direct have their own internet routing networks which enable them to by pass the BT networks and hence these service provider do not pay BT . Since they have their own international call intent routing network which costs them lower than BT so the caller also is hence charged less than the BT rates. So, this is how 0844 number works for international calling and for giving you lower rates than BT.

Enjoying Your Travels To Spain
Thinking about traveling to Spain? Spain - located in southwestern Europe on the Iberian Peninsula - continues to be one of the most popular tourist attractions and vacation spots just as much today as it has always been in the past. Maybe you're wondering about where to visit in Spain... Maybe you want to learn more about its history and experience its tremendous influence in European art... Whatever your reasons for wanting to visit are, you're certainly bound to enjoy the rich culture, customs, and history of this country once you've arrived there. As you can imagine, the architecture of Barcelona, the Holy Monstreat, and the Toledo cathedral make this a popular coordinate. And because this is such a hot travel spot, you're advised to make your airline reservations, hotel reservations, and car rental preparations early - three to four months in advance as a matter of fact - especially when tourism is likely to be high (summer months, holidays, etc.). If you prefer to travel "off-season," - that is, during a time when tourism is low, you may not need to make such early reservations. In the latter case, one month-advanced preparation may suffice. After you've made your reservations, you can fulfill the rest of your time preparing for everything that Spain has to offer. One of the ways that you can do that is by taking a local trip to your favorite library and perusing the immense number of books about Spain. By doing this, you can prepare yourself with the language - perhaps even check out a few books or audio tapes of the language (if available) and additionally learn about Spain's monetary system. You should always learn about entry requirements, inoculations and other safety information you might need before you go not only to Spain - but also just about anywhere out of the country. But you can also familiarize yourself with the dress of the land and maybe try a few local restaurants that serve Spanish cuisine and play a little of its native music. Of course you can always visit your museum and inquire about the art of the land so that you'll know what to look for once you get there - in particular, the works of El Greco. The idea here is to educate yourself amid all the excitement of visiting a place so rich in culture! Now some people like spontaneity - a little adventure - the unknown - whatever you want to call it, but some of us like to create an itinerary of things to do and places to go. If you're the "planning type," then you might appreciate taking the time to map out your excursion. And there's certainly nothing wrong with that - seeing that you're visiting a new area, your chances of being bored or going against spontaneity are very slim because Spain has so much to offer to each one of your physical senses! When and if you create such an itinerary, some of the things that you will want to include of course are things like times to eat, take tours, attend shows, and (our favorite) shop! You might think that this information is hard to find but thanks to the Internet, it really isn't' hard to find at all. If you're working with a travel agent, then your efforts to fill an itinerary should be pretty minimal. But if you're working alone, you can certainly visit the tourist websites of Spain and create your own chart of things to discover and enjoy. If you're handy with the native language of Spain (which you might have correctly guessed is Spanish), you can certainly read a few online Spanish newspapers to find events and locals that might be of interest to you. Chances are that you'll find a lot more entertainment information by reading a Spanish newspaper than you would if you solely relied on an English interpretation.Once you've arrived and have found transportation to your hotel, you can inquire further to find even more interests. By this time, you should be speaking a little Spanish so that you can effectively communicate and exchange money with your hotel manager: Hola! (Hello) Gracias! (Thank You) Como te llamas? (What's your name?)Como estas? (How are you?)Me llamo... (My name is...)Soy de United States of America (I'm from the United States of America)No comprendo (I don't understand)Por favor (please)Me numero de telefono es el... (My phone number is [and then the numbers in Spanish [uno, dos, tres, quatro, cinco, etc.)You'll of course want to learn how to ask for other important things like help and/or directions. These are some of the things that will make your trip to Spain more enjoyable - especially as you converse with the natives and experiment with new foods or amusements that you hadn't even planned for! Just remember to pack your camera or your small video cam so that you can record your experience and enjoy them with loved ones back home.Travel in Spain by TaxiTraveling by taxi in Spain provides an extremely convenient way to move about and "sight-see." Like traveling by taxi in the United States, minimum charges accompany metered mileage plus a small additional fee for baggage and evening - night - or holiday drives.Spain Driving TipsEuropean Union citizens (18 years or older) must own a national driving license to drive in Spain, however non-European Union citizens (18 years or older) also need an International Driving Permit as well. Both types of citizens must have car insurance and identification (license, passport, etc.) by law, is required at all times. Seat belts must be worn by all passengers, and travelers under the age of 14 must be seated in the back seat of the vehicle. When driving, remember that driving positions are reversed to American drivers. You must yield to on-coming traffic from junctures and traffic circles.Special care should be taken to restrict your driving to the main routes outlined on the most recent maps of this area as other routes may not be appropriate for driving (dirt roads, mountain passes, etc.). In urban areas, you can conveniently refuel your vehicle from unleaded or diesel gas stations. But if you'll drive for long periods of time, it's wise to completely fill your tank, as fuel stations are sparse in rural sections of the country.Driving speeds are generally restricted to 30 mph to 56 mph, however driving speeds can increase from 62 mph to 75 mph on highways with more than two lanes. Be prepared to pay both variable and fixed toll charges associated with city entry ways.Traveling in Spain by Car / Car Rental Because Spain's city centers are so popular, you are cautioned to avoid driving in these areas - especially since the narrow roads in these places can accommodate traffic traveling in one direction only. In addition, parked automobiles make driving extremely difficult. Traveling by car rental is best accomplished by following a current map of its roads - which offer views that are nothing short of amazing.
Travel in Lanzarote Spain
Lanzarote is situated just 70 miles off the coast of Africa and is the most easterly of the Canary Islands. The island is 37 miles (60km) long and 12 miles (20 km) wide, making it the fourth largest island in the Canaries.Lanzarote enjoys a mild dry climate with average daytime temperatures ranging from about 21C in January to 29C in August. Annual rainfall is just 140mm (5.5 inches). This makes Lanzarote the perfect year-round holiday destination.Lanzarote is remarkably different, not only compared to the other islands, but to everything else in this world This extraordinary landscape seems to be of another world, and it has been said that God probably forgot Lanzarote on the Seventh Day of the Creation, however just like all other islands in the canaries, Lanzarote is Volcanic in origin. Due to the recent eruptions during the 18th and 19th Centuries, several parts of Lanzarote appear alien, similar to a moon or lunar landscape. The good effect in the area was used for filming of the movie 'Planet of the Apes'. The residents of Lanzarote have made great strides to cultivate this land, and today you will find large plantations of fruits and vegetables. Most surprising is perhaps the region of Geria, with vineyards in between volcanic craters. The dry climate and subsequent lack of erosion means that the volcanic landscape has been unchanged since the last eruptions. Amongst the many stunning volcanic features of Lanzarote is the longest volcanic tunnel in the world, named the Atlantida Tunnel, which is over 7 km long and includes the La Cueva de los Verdes and Jameos del Agua.Surprisingly, Lanzarote has several beautiful white sandy beaches, which have been unaffected by the volcanic effects such as at Playa Blanca and Papagayo. Visionary artist, Cesar Manrique was instrumental in persuading the government to ban billboards and high-rise buildings, leaving the Lanzarote skyline natural as possible (with the exception of the Grand Hotel in Arrecife). He also designed many of the buildings that are dotted about the island. They are epitomised by simple stonewalls that incorporate the natural environment and create a sense of harmony, co-existing with nature, rather than clashing with one another. (With the exception of the Grand Hotel, Arrecife). The island's capital Arrecife, has a population of only 3,000 and is located on the eastern coast of the island. Apart from having the finest museum of the Canaries, this little town does not have much to offer, but its abundant supply of accommodation makes it a good base for exploring the rest of the island.Puerto Del Carmen, with not a spectacular town, is the largest tourist resort on the island. It is better described as a scuba diver's destination with the offshore reef offering some of the best diving in the area.Costa Teguise is one of the nicest places which have a 16th century castle, the Castillo Santa Barbara, and some of the finest gastronomic delights in the Islands, for which it is famous. Anyone visiting Lanzarote would do well to spend a few days in Costa Teguise. The typical Canarian cuisine is a blend of Guanche, Spanish, and Latin American food, with bananas and 'gofio', a staple grain which plays a leading role in many menus.Pizzerias and cheap restaurants are plentiful around Arrecife, and finding a quiet place frequented by the locals is easy and worthwhileThe National Park of Timanfaya is know as the Fire Mountains, continues to erupt and the landscape is a barren expanse of solidified lava with colours of red and black resembling some strange lunar vista. Visitors here will leave well impressed. The volcanic eruptions produced in 1730 (which lasted six years) and those in 1824 created new craters, they entombed whole villages and buried the most fertile terrain on the island.Travel by Taxis Taxis in Lanzarote are a useful way to travel around the towns and visit nearby sights and attractions. The taxi meters starts at a basic fare, but additional charges are usually made for luggage, night time driving and travel on public holidays in Lanzarote. Driving Tips Citizens of EU member countries require a national driving licence to drive cars in LanzaroteCitizens from non-EU member countries need an International Driving Permit, as well as their national driving licence. You must be at least 18 years old to drive a car in Spain and have a valid driving licence and car insurance. Beware of what appear to be shortcuts on maps - these often turn out to be unpaved roads or mountain passes.Spanish fuel stations supply most internationally known brands of unleaded petrol (gasolina sin plomo) and diesel (gas oil) .In rural areas, there are normally only a few service stations, so when travelling long distances, be sure to leave with a full tank of fuel.Autopistas (toll motorways) have various toll charges calculated by the kilometre and some roads that lead into cities also have fixed toll charges. 75 miles per hour / 120 km per hour is the national speed limit on motorways (autopistas) and 62 miles per hour / 100 km per hour is the maximum limit on autovias with four or more lanes or three-lane highways.Unless indicated, other major routes are 56 miles per hour / 90 km per hour and slower speed limits of 30 miles per hour / 50 km per hour are enforced in urban areas. It is an offence not to carry some form of identification, such as passport or driving licence.Travel by Car Hire/Rental Driving in the centre of busy towns and popular resorts is best avoided if possible, as many of the streets and narrow, with one-way traffic. Cars parked alongside the pavements can also making driving conditions difficult. Travel in Albufeira Portugal
Albufeira is quite simply Portugal's version of Spain's Benidorm, a town dedicated to supplying the downmarket British punter with everything he might want, from eggs and bacon for breakfast to big-screen football with fish and chips for dinner. Pile 'em high, sell 'em low, Albufeira is a place to play hard at the right price and live the lifestyle the foreign way. It is a mere three-hour flight from the UK, with over 14 flights a day to the main airport in Faro. Add to this that it boasts almost all-year sun, has great beaches and low prices, then you can understand why just over a million and a half UK visitors made the journey there last year. Over 14 flights a day to Faro.Albufeira was a busy trading port in ancient times and declined into a poor fishing town in the 18th century, after being swamped by tidal waves and burnt out by civil war. However, since the early1960s the town has prospered, thanks to a tourist boom. Albufeira is undoubtedly Portugal's most popular resort, spreading from the old town both east and west along the coast, its sandy coves and golden beaches drawing an assorted crowd from retired couples to young teens, and families with young children. Everyone finds something to enjoy in this sprawling, low-rise holiday town, which retains its old world charm with narrow passageways behind the new hip and happening "Strip". The Strip, to the east of town, runs from the Montechoro Hotel down to the Praia da Oura, lined with dozens of cafes, restaurants and bars that operate from breakfast time to the small hours. All along the stretch of beach below the central square, craggy fishermen mend their nets unperturbed by the topless sunbathers lazying around them. While the chief attraction of Albufeira is its several enchanting beaches, most protected by ochre-tinted cliffs, there are some interesting sightseeing possibilities too, like the new Virtual Archaeological Museum, the Municipal Art Gallery and a museum showcasing Ming ceramics. Those who travel inland will find a tranquil green countryside to explore, prevalent with almond, fig, orange and pine trees, where little villages stand timelessly in the sun.Activities to do in Albufeira:Sun and sea bathing on the golden beaches and in the warm, clear water is enough for most holiday makers, with around an astonishing twenty three beaches (some with Blue Flag status) in the area along a 19-mile (30km) stretch of coastline. All sorts of watersports are on offer at the main beaches, from sailing and windsurfing to jet-skiing. Golfers can attempt the neat nine-hole Pine Cliffs course about three miles (5km) east of Albufeira at the Sheraton Algarve. For children, fun times can be found at Zoo Marine in Guia, just a few miles away, with water slides, swimming pools, dolphin shows and an aquarium. Exploring the intriguing old town centre on foot is a pleasant way to pass a day. Look out for interesting local landmarks like the Clock Tower at Rua Bernardino de Sousa, and the 18th-century Parish Church on the Rua da Igreja Nova built on the site of an earlier one that collapsed in the earthquake of 1755. One of the few buildings that survived that quake is the Old Inn on Rua Henrique Calado. Also fascinating is the Xorino Cave, which served as shelter for fugitive Moors during the Christian conquest of the town in olden times. After a hot day in the sun most holiday makers enjoy sipping a drink at one of the many outdoor cafes, watching the world go by, before moving to one of the lively bars that surround the town square or line The Strip. Bars keep bopping until three or four in the morning, but those who want to dance the night away can keep going until sunrise at one of the nightclubs or discos in the town. Albufeira can keep most shoppers reaching for their wallets with a tantalising array of goodies. The town's main shopping plaza is the Modelo Centre in Rua de Municipio, north of the centre. Not far away is the lively Algarve Shopping Complex in Guia, where brand name shoes and clothes are on offer in a high street mall type complex, along with restaurants, an English-language cinema and bowling alley. Those seeking genuine local souvenirs should look out for mats made from rush or corn husks in the villages of Almeijoafras and Monte Novo, woven baskets, wood carvings and some glazed terracotta ceramics. These are to be found in numerous independent shops in the town centre as well as local marketsFor eating out, Albufeira simply has lots to offer, the Portuguese love their fish and all fish is caught locally. There are lots of seafood restaurants clustered down by Fisherman's Beach. If it's other food you are looking for, Albufeira has it in abundance.Travel by Taxis Taxis in Albufeira are a useful way to travel around the towns and visit nearby sights and attractions. The taxi meters starts at a basic fare, but additional charges are usually made for luggage, night time driving and travel on public holidays in AlbufeiraDriving Tips Citizens of EU member countries require a national driving licence to drive cars in Portugal. iPhone Tutorial - 5 Tips When Traveling Abroad With Your iPhone
I have recently started traveling around the world and have relied immensely on my iPhone to make the journey more enjoyable, prevent loss of information, and even point me in the right (or if I wish random but interesting) direction.I will briefly teach you my favorite 5 top tips for traveling abroad with your iPhoneIt is remarkable how much the world, as well as our daily lives have changed since the advent of mobile phones and in particular smart phones, such as the iPhone 3g by Apple. Some of us can remember the days when we use to make appointments once a day and kept them because there was no way to communicate the change of plan unless you were at home. Nowadays we need to be able to use the tools to our disposal to make better informed decisions... Even when on holiday or traveling. The fact that there are websites that cater solemnly for providing high quality iPhone tutorial videos and cheat sheets is testament to this new wave of technology. The cost of traveling with the internet in your pocketWith the recent advances, especially with the large amount of high quality Internet-connected applications that are available for the iPhone, trying to accomplish your daily tasks without the Internet on your phone becomes a problem. This is a dilemma myself and other high frequency or power users of the iPhone have faced when having to travel abroad with your iPhone, which brings a few interesting challenges with it when you find out the roaming rate for data is between 3 and 6 between Europe and the rest of the world.Luckily I have traveled internationally with my iPhone many times and found some novel solutions and will now supply a few tips to make traveling abroad with your iPhone a painless and more enjoyable experience.Tip 1: Disable voicemail before leavingMost carriers for the iPhone will charge you to receive voice-mails while you are abroad. With the Visual voicemail feature of the iPhone this means you will be charged international rates every time someone leaves a voicemail, whether you listen to it or not. It is easy to avoid these charged by disabling your voicemail while travelling abroad. For UK customers, to switch voicemail divert off dial 1760. On your return to switch it back on dial 1750.Another way of disabling voice-mail before traveling is to type #004# and call. Enabling voice-mail on your return can be done by typing *004# and pressing call. Not all Networks across the globe allow this functionality, so if this tip doesn't work for you just call your operator support to disable the visual voicemailTip 2: Disable data roaming.Unfortunately data roaming with the iPhone Internet enabled applications can work out costly if you weren't expecting it. It is surprising how much data an application such as email or normal web browsing can consume, which will leave you with a big shock when you find the bill at the end of the month. To do this from the home screen click settings- general settings- network- data roaming - offThere are ways to still use your applications such as GPS navigation even with this feature turned off as explained later in this tutorial. Before you go traveling I suggest you clear the data counter so that if you do switch on the data roaming occasionally for checking a important email or website, you will know exactly what the charge will be. To clear the data usage counters, from the home screen press the settings button, then press "usage" and lastly press "reset statistics" button.Tip 3: enable flight mode when not expecting calls. If you are on holiday, I'm sure you don't want to be interrupted while listening to your favourite mp3's while tanning on the white beaches of Sardinia or another gorgeous part of Europe. This will stop you from receiving calls while activated, but more importantly prevent your battery from running flat for when you really DO need to make an important call. if you are near a WIFI access point you can still activate the wireless While the phone is still in airplane mode giving you the best solution:Internet access without data roaming charges and linger battery life.Tip 4: Download the GoogleMaps so they are ready for GPS without incurring data rates Download the google maps prior to leaving your home country. All you need to do is to open the google maps app, search for your destination( preferably your hotel accommodation or street address ) and zoom in and around. The Google maps app will keep these maps in its temporary cache and will not require Internet access to display them again once you arrive in your destination. Prior to leaving I suggest to drop a pin on your points of interest, which you can then use as place marks to find your way around. If you have access to a Internet cafe or WIFI access point at your accommodation you can also visit your itinerary stops over the WIFI connection and have those maps cached when you are out and about.Tip 5: Download offline translation applications. most of us will be familiar with the free applications such as iTranslate which uses Google translate over your Internet connection to translate between languages. When abroad this data transfer can be costly. I have found that paying a few dollars or pounds for the offline version of the software which includes phrases and vocabulary is much better and performs significantly faster. Please note that these are only a small extract of tips for traveling with your iPhone from iPhoneTutorialVideos.comThere are many more techniques available that will help you use your iPhone when abroad and you would be surprised with the results that this little computer in your pocket can achieve once you get to know its secrets. As a teaser I will leave you with the following questions to think about:How can carrying toothpicks in your travel bag help you and your iPhone out of a uncomfortable situation? Is it possibly to put a local simcard in your iPhone when abroad WITHOUT jail-breaking your iPhone? Have you ever wanted to listen to your mp3's on your iPhone while snorkeling in the Great Barrier reef? With these few tips I hope your experience of using your iPhone while traveling abroad or maybe even the world will be more enjoyable.

New York City Doctor Launches TravelMD, A Newly Redesigned Healthy Travel Website
September 2, 2003 -- Dr. Ronald A. Primas, a New York City based internist and travel medicine specialist, the American Academy of Home Care Physicians (AAHCP) 2002 House Call Doctor of the Year today launched a completely redesigned comprehensive website for travelers. Whether a business traveler or leisure traveler visiting or planning to visit New York City and needing up the minute weather reports and forecasts, influenza or allergy alerts, New York City bus and subway maps, NYC events, or an adventure traveler going abroad and needing pre-travel advice or visa requirements, TravelMD.com is a traveler's one stop for information. It is updated regularly and has an updated quarterly newsletter on how to stay healthy while traveling.Says Dr. Primas;"This site was designed to meet any and all needs of travelers everywhere. We see over three thousand travelers a year and have responded to their needs. For patients seen at our Travelers Wellness Center who are going abroad, we've added first aid advice, a multilingual translator, a customizable currency converter, an international cyber caf directory, and even a link to get their passports online quickly as well as a link to purchase travel insurance and travel protection products. Traveling, while rewarding, is stressful enough. We've designed our site to give our patients peace of mind by covering all of our bases. There is even a public service section where there are links to public service announcements and even a link where someone can feel good and contribute to their favorite charitable organization.""Our international travelers find solace in knowing they can e-mail us directly from our site from anywhere on the planet where there is internet access and we will address their specific concerns. It (TravelMd.com) is an easy name to remember and patients don't have to be concerned about our email address if they lose our card. Some of our patients have e-mailed us digital images of skin lesions and Dr. Primas correctly diagnosed the patient and told them what treatment to get at a local pharmacy (in Thailand and Ghana). One patient was even sophisticated enough to e-mail us an mp3 file with her breath sounds and Dr. Primas was able to tell it was a pneumonia and referred her on to a local physician as part of his international network of physicians for treatment. It is the ultimate in telemedicine!" says office manager Sheila Martinez."The site has been four years in the making and it addresses many of the requests our patients have asked of us. says Dr. Primas. "Patients who have been confined to their hotel rooms have told us how bored they are being confined to bed and how disappointed they are that they couldn't shop for souvenirs. We added links to a site where they can play games, send free e-postcards and even added links to sites where they can order NYC souvenirs, posters and other NYC related items. It is a very interesting and fun site and can be translated into eight different languages instantly via our link. The site averaged about 40,000 hits a month, and that was before the redesign!" Dr. Primas has been doing house calls since 1993 and founded N.Y. Hotel Urgent Medical Services in April 1997 and TravelMD.com in May 1998. Dr. Primas and his team of internists, family practitioners, pediatricians and surgeons are available 24 hours a day including holidays for home/hotel or office visits and have a 24-hour urgent care center available by appointment. If someone is ill at 2:00 a.m., someone from the team will be there to assist. Whether an ill tourist, native New Yorker or homebound elderly patient, this comprehensive service is always available and much health related information is always available on our website.

Experience Traveling in a Different Light - Backpack, Volunteer, Work
If you have a passion for international travel that exists outside the "tourist" box, the possibilities are endless. You don't need an excessive budget to travel the world nor do you need to do what is typical when on vacation. There are ways to not only see and experience a country, but a chance to immerse yourself to be a part of a place that is initially foreign to you.Growing up in the United States has limited myself and fellow Americans from having the convenience of traveling abroad. First off, our country is diverse enough in climates and subcultures to keep domestic travel exciting. Secondly, we only border Canada and Mexico, which leaves little room to understand the extent of our world. And lastly, the thought of any overseas travel is just expensive, especially flights departing from the U.S.The above are examples that hinder us to break out of our comfort zones and experience what the world has to offer. Traveling should be more than the destination, the photo of the famous landmark, and the overpriced souvenirs that we bring home. It should open our eyes to things we can't understand by remaining in our comfortable lifestyles. The following are three ways to explore a variation to the standard vacation:Backpack: The most affordable way to visit other countries is to break out of the typical style of vacation and do things a little bit differently. An easy way to do that is to get a Lonely Planet book specific to your destination. Lonely Planet is a travel guidebook that offers information on everything that will help you enjoy your experience to the fullest while keeping money in your pocket. Instead of booking a hotel online, look under 'Accommodations' and read about some hostels or guesthouses that are much more affordable and a great way to meet other travelers to pick up even more tips. Find some great hole-in-the-wall cafes that offer authentic, cheap and usually the most delicious cuisines. There are even excellent maps to help you navigate the city and all different means of transportation to do so. The greatest way to really get a good feel for a place is to watch the locals, talk to the locals and make friends with the locals. Locals are a great insight to step away from being the tourist and truly experience the culture.Volunteer: Volunteering in a third world country is an incredible opportunity to learn about a lifestyle we could never imagine by simply reading about. It is a chance to give back to the less fortunate and acquire immense personal growth. There are many online volunteer programs, although some of which are quite expensive. A more affordable way to volunteer is to look into a Lonely Planet book specific to your chosen country.Work: Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) is one of the largest international industries available to Native English Speakers. Depending on which country you look for work in, the prerequisites will vary. Bachelor's Degree, TESL Certificate, and teaching experience are a few things you may need to have in some countries, but others you will just need to be a Native English Speaker. Dave's ESL Cafe is a large international job board that lists work opportunities all over the world. http://www.daveseslcafe.comThe world is a playground full of opportunities you never thought possible. Knowledge is extremely helpful in experiencing the world, but a passion for travel will take you anywhere you desire to go.

Dual, Tri, Or Quad Band Gsm Cell Phone For International Traveling
Everyone is asking what kind of GSM phone to get: Dual, Tri, or Quad band? Since there are two frequency bands that are used by GSM services in the United States, and also two different frequency bands are used in the rest of the world, ideally, one would want a quad- band phone - one that works on all four bands. This should be your first choice when seeking a phone. However, since some of the best phones can still be expensive and hard to find, many gravitate toward the second best choice, the tri band phone. When doing this, be mindful which three bands your phone has, as some bands are more useful than others. The United States originally only used 1900 MHz for its GSM service, but more recently, there has been a growing amount of GSM service on the 850 MHz band. When choosing a phone, it's important to know how you will be using it. For example, if you are in the United States and operate with in the major metropolitan areas, you won't really miss the 850 MHz bank. On the other hand, if you regularly travel to secondary areas, you will benefit from the extra coverage that the 850 MHz band provides. Basically, if you travel outside of the big cities, you'll want a phone that supports 850 MHZ and 1900 MHz.Internationally, things are a little different. In the beginning, all countries with GSM service used the 900 MHz band, but due to congestion, service providers have been adding 1800 MHz coverage. When GSM became available in the United States, a few other countries chose to used the same frequencies the U.S. used - 1900 MHz, and in some cases, 850 MHz. Most international countries that use the non U.S. international frequency banks have 900 MHZ service. Many also have 1800 MHz service. All international countries that have the U.S. frequency bands have 1900 MHz service. A few may also have 850 MHz service. So, which frequencies do you need when traveling internationally? That depends on where you're going. Generally, 900 MHz is the most common band used internationally. 1800 MHz will give you expanded coverage in countries that also use 900MHz. Ideally, your phone should support all four bands. In the real world, not everyone is going to have a quad band phone, so here are some guidelines:If you're only using your phone in the United States, and you get a dual band phone, make sure it has both 850 MHz and 1900 MHz. If you must get a single band phone, one with 1900 MHz only will give about the same amount of coverage. If you're going international, and your countries have international frequencies, get a dual band phone with 900 and 1800 MHz. If you must go single band, one with 900MHz will be almost as good. If your countries have U.S, frequencies, get a tri band phone with 900, 1800, and 1900 MHz. This type of phone is excellent internationally, and very good in the United States. Another type of tri band is 850-1800-1900. This one is great for the United States, but not very good internationally. For more detailed information, or to view coverage maps, visit the official GSM association website.

Ten Pound International Travel
International travel with only carry-on? It makes life on the road so much easier. The most recent time my wife and I went to Ecuador, I had 10 pounds of luggage, in one carry-on bag. Ana had 8 pounds in her carry-on bag. We spent six weeks in Ecuador, at times on glacier-covered mountains, and at other times lounging on Pacific coast beaches. Why travel so light? Simplicity. Since we had only carry-on luggage, we were in a restaurant in Quito, while others still waited for their checked luggage. When we were on busses, our luggage was safely with us, not in the hold below being cut open, as happened to me years ago when I was in Mexico.Other travelers struggled to their hotels carrying three heavy bags. Meanwhile we were walking along comfortably with our day packs. With less to lose, less to be stolen, less to wait for, and less to pack and unpack in hotels, we had less to worry about. My International Travel Packing List - Six Seeks In Ecuador* 8 pairs thin nylon socks (an ounce per pair)* 2 silk dress shirts (3 ounces each)* 4 poly/cotton blend t-shirts (5-6 ounces each)* 5 pair of light underwear (2-3 ounces each)* 1 extra pair of lightweight slacks (9 ounces)* Waterproof/breathable rain suit (14 ounces for the set)* Light plastic camera (3 ounces)* Sunglasses (1 ounce)* Small chess set (3 ounces)* Bathroom kit (5 ounces)* Single layer nylon shorts for hiking or swimming (2 ounces)* Thin gloves (1 ounce)* Thin hat (1 ounce - honestly)* Thin wool sweater (11 ounces)* Maps, notebook and various small things (3 or 4 pounds)My pack weight? Ten pounds. Anas: 8 pounds. We really never felt deprived. Of course, you don't have to start counting ounces (that comes from my backpacking days). What you do have to do, is reconsider how many things you really need to bring on a trip. Leave behind things you never end up using, and remember that you can buy things as you go too.You also don't necessarily have to buy new clothes, or buy a scale and count ounces. Simply choose lighter alternatives whenever you can. Put aside your lightest jacket, pants, shirts and socks for your next trip. The goal, after all, is simplicity, not complicated planning. Most important is to think about what you really need to have a good time, and try to limit your packing to those things. Money is the first thing that comes to mind, and it doesn't weigh much. As for the other things? International travel is about getting away from home , so why try to carry it with you?
